How To Kill an Exhibition

Friday morning I read Ben Grey's post Technology Guidelines. He shared with us his colleague's thoughts about publishing student work.

  1. The statement was made that all of the data being produced by teachers and students should be housed within a district.

  2. A teacher should never allow a student’s work to be posted if it isn’t entirely free of grammatical or spelling errors.

Things are good here. I am not doing exhibitions this year as I have no students. I've been working with Candace and her 3 4th grade students as well as the 2 3rd graders. These kids are getting a helluvan education. I will being doing exhibitions next year at NIS though. So I'm trying to stay in the loop. How are things on your end?

Tod-
Eugene and I are looking at 'How We Express Ourselves'. This will be a first for this transdisciniplinary theme at our school. We want to focus on the Arts aesthetics- changing skyline, languages lost, art forms lost etc. Will be a challenge to get the students inspired to take ACTION in this area and get away from topics that have been repeated the last two years at our school.
At the same time the challenge at our school will also be the hosting of two Exhibitions in one school year. This is becaue Grade 6 is moving to MYP next year and so we must complete a double cohort this year. Losts of logistical issues to work out. YIKES!!!!
